Shrimper Options

We strip down and refit older Shrimpers to make them ready to sail, thoroughly seaworthy and looking good. You don’t need to buy any extras to sail one of our Shrimpers (other than your own lifejackets and navigational equipment) but sailors are notorious individualists and many owners like to fit additional equipment to suit their own sailing needs or aesthetics. We are happy to discuss any additional fixtures or equipment and supply and fit them to your needs but we recommend three basic options:

CLASSIC SHRIMPER

The straightforward, ready to sail, Shrimper fully refitted by us with all the equipment you need to take her sailing today. Many owners have kept their Shrimpers from new, exactly as supplied, without the need for any extras: testimony to the practicality of the design and the quality of build.

TRADITIONAL SHRIMPER

The Classic Shrimper with the addition of polyester “natural hemp” running rigging throughout, and extensive wooden and brass fittings such as wooden name boards, gunwhales, cabin/chart table, wooden tiller extension, wooden blocks, pin rail (see photo opposite), clinometer, flag staff and brass clock and barometer.

RACING SHRIMPER

The Classic Shrimper with the addition of a halyard winch, wind indicator, echo sounder, clinometer, steel tiller extension, stylish name boards and a new suit of racing sails. Cornish Shrimper
